Harald Felsch

Harald Felsch (born September 16, 1942 ) is a German martial arts trainer and former judoka.

Career

Harald Felsch was the first judoka to appear in two German national teams after the Berlin Wall was built, in 1962 in the GDR and from 1963 to 1972 in the FRG . In 1962 he was third in the GDR individual championships behind Herbert Niemann and Karl Nitz . With SC Dynamo Berlin , he won the championships of the GDR sports clubs in 1962. With the judo team of Post-SV Düsseldorf , he later became multiple champions in Germany. As in the GDR, Felsch had two competitors in the FRG, Peter Herrmann and Klaus Glahn , who blocked his path to the individual championship title. Felsch was in the Olympic squad in 1964 and 1972 as well as in the 1960s and 1970s several times European championship participant and was with the German selection two-time European team champions. Felsch was the champion of North Rhine-Westphalia several times and often took second and third places in national and international German championships in light and heavyweight. He also worked as a trainer, e.g. B. at SC Nippon Düsseldorf.

In 1970 Felsch opened a sports studio, which was followed a year later by the Nippon Sports Center with several sports. He worked for 10 years as a fitness trainer for the multiple German ice hockey champion DEG Düsseldorf as well as for various Olympic, world and European champions. Felsch himself played tennis, volleyball, ice hockey and in many celebrity soccer teams.
