Harald Ossberger

Harald Ossberger (* 1948 in Graz ) is an Austrian pianist and music teacher.

Ossberger studied piano as a concert subject with Grete Hinterhofer and Alexander Jenner at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and passed the diploma examination with distinction. Since then he has performed as a soloist in most of Europe, the Middle East, Taiwan, China, India, North and Latin America. As a chamber musician, he has been a member of the 20th Century Ensemble since 1974 and founded the Concordia Trio in 1978 with Erich Schagerl and Josef Luitz . From 1979 until his death in 1988 he worked regularly with Henryk Szeryng , since 2006 he has devoted himself to literature for piano four hands with the young pianist Christos Marantos . His chamber music partners also include musicians such as René Staar , Josef Sivo , Hermilo Novelo , Christian Altenburger , Mario Hossen , Florian Kitt , Attila Pasztor , Roger Salander , Milan Turković , Alois Brandhofer , Dieter Flury , Manfred Wagner-Artzt and Michael Lipp . He took part in numerous festivals and made radio and CD recordings.

Since 1976, Ossberger has been teaching piano, stylistics, performance practice, fortepiano, structural analysis and didactics at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 1976, and he also gives courses and seminars at home and abroad. From 2000 to 2006 he was President, then Vice President of the Austrian Music Council . From 2003 to 2007 he was a member of the music advisory board in the Federal Chancellery .
