Controversy over misogyny

Dieter Flury said in an interview with WDR in 1996 musical misogyny :

“We spoke earlier about something special from Vienna, about this kind of music making here. And for me that is also an indication that the way music is made here is not just a technical skill, but has a lot to do with the soul, and the soul simply cannot be separated from the cultural roots that we are here in Central Europe, and she cannot be separated by gender. So if you are of the opinion that the world should function according to quotas, then of course the fact that we are a group of white-skinned male musicians here who only perform white-skinned male composers is a racist and sexist nuisance, you have to I think so say. If you come up with a superficial leveling out, you lose very important things in it. Therefore I am convinced that it is worth accepting this racist and sexist nuisance, because something comes out that, in my opinion, would not come out to the same extent if it were changed now according to misunderstood human rights.
