Harald Alfred Petzold

Harald Alfred Petzold (born March 28, 1962 in Heringsdorf ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and teacher at the Immanuel Kant comprehensive school in Falkensee with upper secondary school.

Life

After graduating from high school, Petzold studied music and German at the Pädagogische Hochschule Potsdam from 1983 to 1988 and began research studies in 1988 , which he broke off with the fall of the Wall in 1990. He was a qualified teacher by profession .

He later completed another teaching degree for political education in secondary level I / II and, after successfully completing his legal clerkship in Königs Wusterhausen, worked at the Immanuel Kant comprehensive school with upper secondary level in Falkensee until 2005 . In winter 2005 he then moved to the office of member of the Bundestag Kirsten Tackmann as head . After the 2009 election, he helped the newly elected member of the Bundestag Sabine Stüber to set up her office for three months and began working as a consultant in the Ministry of Economics and European Affairs of the State of Brandenburg in February 2010. In 2016 he returned to his old position at the Immanuel Kant comprehensive school in Falkensee.

At the age of 19, Petzold joined the SED. From 1990 to 1999 Petzold sat for the PDS in the state parliament of Brandenburg . Both times he entered the state parliament of Brandenburg via the state list. On September 22, 2013, Petzold succeeded in entering the Bundestag in the 2013 Bundestag election via a list. In 191 of 211 roll-call votes in the 18th legislative period , he voted 186 times with the Left Party. He sat on the committees for culture and media, as well as law and consumer protection .

For the federal election on September 24, 2017, he was elected to 6th place in the list of the party Die Linke and ran as a direct candidate, as in 2009 and 2013 (3rd place each), in constituency 58 . However, he did not succeed in entering the Bundestag in 2017.
