Harald Rosenløw Eeg
Harald Rosenløw Eeg (born August 18, 1970 in Tønsberg ) is a Norwegian writer who stood out with (youth) novels, scripts and numerous literary prizes from his country.
Life and work
Eeg made an academic degree in religious history at the University of Oslo . He then worked as a catechist and religious educator. In his spare time he was also active as a techno musician.
For his debut youth novel Glasskår , he received both the “ Tarjei Vesaas Debutant Prize ” and the Protestant Church's Debutant Prize for children's and youth literature in 1996 . A film version of the book followed in 2002. The German film title was Der Riss . At the Berlinale Children's Film Festival 2002, the children's jury awarded the “Transparent Bear” for the film by director Lars Berg .
In the following years, Eeg published further youth novels and scripts in quick succession. Only between 1998 and 2002 did it manage less than one new publication a year.
For his books Vrengt (1997) and Yatzy (2004) he received the renowned Norwegian Brageprisen in the category “Children's and Young People's Books”. Gerstenberg Verlag published a translation into German for Yatzy in 2011 . It was Eeg's first book to be published in a German translation.
