Harald Sandberg (* 1950 in Uppsala , Sweden ) is a Swedish diplomat.

Career

Sandberg attended Linköping Military Academy and then graduated from Uppsala University with a major in history. He later wrote articles on history too.

Sandberg started working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden in 1976. His first post was at the Swedish Embassy in Seoul ( South Korea ). This was followed by the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations in Geneva and the Swedish Embassy in Washington, DC He then worked in Stockholm as head of the private office of the Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade (1991-1994), as deputy head of the cabinet office of the EU secretariat -Coordination and as head of the advertising department for Sweden and Swedish Trade.

From 1998 to 2003 Sandberg was the Swedish ambassador to Indonesia , from May 21, 2002 as the first Swede for East Timor with double accreditation and from 2003 to 2005 in South Korea . After returning to Sweden as Head of Human Resources, Sandberg handed over his accreditation as the Swedish Ambassador to India on Friday, July 13, 2012 . He is also accredited for Bhutan , the Maldives , Nepal and Sri Lanka .
