Harden My Heart is a 1981 Quarterflash song written by Marv Ross and produced by John Boylan. It appeared on the band's debut album Quarterflash.
history
Before the song was released, the band recorded a demo version of the song, which featured sparse instrumentation and more dramatic vocal parts. After the demo version was played on regional radio stations in Portland / Oregon (USA) and was well received, the Power Pop ballad was recorded for the debut album in late 1980. It was released on October 1, 1981. For sales of over a million copies of the single and its success on the Billboard Hot 100 , the song was awarded the gold record .
The song was heard twice in the first episode of Knight Rider , and Harden My Heart was heard on radio station 98.3 in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories . The song was also used in the film Wet Hot American Summer and in the episode The Defector by The Americans .
Music video
The video shows a theatrical performance, office equipment and a light bulb swinging down from the ceiling in a dark corridor.
