Electronics developer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Electronics developer , also called hardware developer or hardware designer, is an activity that deals with the conception and construction of electronic circuits and devices ( hardware , electronics , often also mechatronics , optronics ).

In detail, the tasks of an electronics developer are the development of a solution concept according to the task (functional specification , requirement specification ) the creation of the circuit diagram on the basis of available electronic components and the layout ( circuit board disentanglement , wiring, EMC- appropriate arrangement of the assemblies, etc.).

The creation of the manufacturing documents for production includes the circuit board (design and assembly in electronic form), component lists and special manufacturing instructions. The programming of PLDs and microcontrollers is often a task that the developer has to take over or at least closely supervise.

The commissioning of prototypes , measurements and test series are typically required, while the transition to series production often takes place in close contact with the technologist.

education and study

Hardware developers have often completed a degree in electrical engineering / electronics or a comparable course such as information technology , communication technology or communications engineering at a university or a vocational college . Studying in another engineering or natural science course, such as mechanical engineering or physics, also offers entry opportunities into hardware development.

Hardware developer is not a protected job title in Germany and Austria .
