Harriet Cains (* 1993 in Nottingham ) is a British actress , best known for her role as Jem Walker on the television series In the Flesh .

Life

Harriet Cains learned to act at a drama club called Circle Up . She stayed in the club for three years. One of her teachers was previously at the Central Junior Television Workshop in Nottingham and told Cains about it. A little later, Cains attended the workshop. While there, she learned about an audition for the British television series In the Flesh . She came to audition in Manchester and was cast as Jem Walker.

Jem is the sister of Kieren, who turned into a zombie and killed people in front of Jem's eyes. Her brother has received medical treatment and is almost the same as before. Jem, on the other hand, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and must first learn to cope with their experiences. In preparing for the role, Cain watched documentaries on post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorders and spoke to people who suffered from these diseases. It was important to her to represent the diseases realistically.

In 2015, the teenager played Louise in Safe House . A year later, she got the role of Lizzie Hallum in the crime series Vera - A Very Special Case .

In 2017, Cain's Jade Hopkirk played in Line of Duty . In early July 2017, it was announced that Cains would play a role in the second season of the Netflix series Marcella .
