Marcella is a British television series by the Swedish author Hans Rosenfeldt with Anna Friel in the role of the eponymous main character. The series has been on the British broadcaster Independent Television since April 4, 2016 . The worldwide broadcasting rights are held by the streaming provider Netflix , which has shown the series in German-speaking countries since July 1, 2016. On August 26, 2016, it was announced that a 2nd season had been ordered and aired in 2018. Season 3 began broadcasting on Netflix on June 14, 2020.
