Anna Friel
Anna Louise Friel (born July 12, 1976 in Rochdale ) is a British actress .
life and career
Friel began her career starring in the soap opera Brookside , which she starred on British television on Channel 4 between 1993 and 1995 . Here she caused a stir when she gave another actress the first lesbian kiss on British television. Since then she has starred in many films, such as the 1999 Shakespeare film A Midsummer Night's Dream . She was nominated for the Genie Award in 2002 for the lead role in The War Bride (2001) . From 2007 to 2008 she starred alongside Lee Pace in the series Pushing Daisies . For her title role in the series Marcella , Friel won the International Emmy Award for Best Actress in 2017 .
In the late 1990s, Friel had a six-month relationship with singer Robbie Williams . She gave birth to a daughter on July 9, 2005. The child's father is her fellow actor David Thewlis , with whom she dated from 2001 to 2010. She has been in a relationship with Welsh actor Rhys Ifans since 2011 .
