Harry Lester Adams (born October 1, 1880 in Medway , † August 12, 1968 in Oakland ) was an American sports marksman .

successes

Harry Adams participated in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm in five disciplines. In the three-position fight with the army rifle he did not get past twelfth place, in the competition over 600 m in any position he was also twelfth. He finished the individual competition with the free rifle in the three-position fight in 28th place, his result in the prone position is unknown. He finally secured a gold medal in the team competition with the army rifle. The American team, which includes, in addition to Adams, Cornelius Burdette , John Jackson , Allan Briggs , Carl Osburn and Warren Sproutbelonged, finished the competition with 1687 points ahead of the British and Swedish teams and thus became Olympic champion . Adams was the team's second best shooter with 283 points.

Adams was a sergeant in the U.S. Cavalry at the time of the Olympics .
