Warren Austin Sprout (born February 3, 1874 in Picture Rocks , † August 23, 1945 in Westfield ) was an American sports marksman .

Warren Sprout took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm in eight disciplines. In the three-position battle with the army rifle he did not get beyond 37th place, in the competition over 600 m in any position he reached 14th place. He finished the individual competition with the free rifle in the three-position competition in 32nd place. He finally secured a gold medal in the team competition with the army rifle. The US team, which in addition to Sprout also included Cornelius Burdette , John Jackson , Allan Briggs , Carl Osburn and Harry Adams , finished the competition with 1687 points ahead of the British and Swedish teams and thus became Olympic champions . Sprout was the team's weakest shooter with 276 points. In the competition with the small bore rifle over 25 m on a disappearing target, he was third in the team competition alongside Frederick Hird , William McDonnell and William Leushner as well as in the prone position with the small bore rifle alongside Frederick Hird, Carl Osburn and William Leushner . In the individual competitions he finished twelfth in the lying position and 17th place on the disappearing target.

Sprout was a hospital administrator in the US Navy at the time of the Olympics .
