Harry Vaulkhard (born October 14, 1985 in Newcastle upon Tyne , England ) is a British racing driver. His father Nigel was also a racing driver.

Career

Career start

Vaulkard initially took part in motocross races until he switched to automobile racing in 2004 . He started out in the Northern Sports & Saloon Championship . In 2005 he moved to JS Motorsport in the Seat Cupra Cup . After finishing eleventh in the championship in 2005 and ninth in 2006, he was able to celebrate his greatest success to date in 2007: he finished 16 of 20 races in the Leon Cupra R class on the podium and finally won the championship in his class .

British Touring Car Championship

For the 2008 season Vaulkhard got into the British Touring Car Championship , in which he drove a Chevrolet Lacetti for Robertshaw Racing . He scored two points and at the end of the season he finished 19th overall and ninth in the privateer driver championship. In the following year Robertshaw Racing did not take part. The vehicles switched to Team Tempus Sport , which became Bamboo Engineering at mid-season . Vaulkhard scored 22 points and thus reached 16th place in the championship.

World Touring Car Championship

For the 2010 season , Bamboo Engineering entered the World Touring Car Championship with two Chevrolet Lacetti . Bamboo pilot Vaulkhard also made his debut in the world championship. His teammate is Darryl O'Young .
