Kollaps Tradixionales is the sixth studio album by the Canadian post-rock band Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra . The album was released by Constellation Records in early February 2010 .
Overview
The songs " I Built Myself a Metal Bird ", " I Fed My Metal Bird the Wings of Other Metal Birds " and " There Is a Light " were featured on previous tours of the band.
For this album, the otherwise rather shy band started a blog on their official website and visitors were able to listen to the song Kollaps Tradicional (Bury 3 Dynamos) in advance .
This album is the first with drummer David Payant after former drummer Eric Craven left the band. The band was also reduced from eight to five people - this explains the shortening of the title to Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra .
A typical feature of Constellation Records is the addition of extras and gimmicks to the CD or LP. The CD came out in a folded cardboard sleeve. The vinyl was available as a double 10 ".
The style of the record again differs significantly from other releases of the band, and can be more closely assigned to the genre Progressive Rock , also many European folklore genres were named as inspiration.

reception
Kollaps Tradixionales was received mostly benevolently. It received 9 out of 10 stars from PopMatters . It is "a ceaseless exploration of the spatial dynamics of blues, folk, rock, jazz and orchestral music." Plattentests.de awarded 8 out of 10 points and praised the "compositional finesse, [...] lyricism and tension" of the album. A Silver Mt. Zion would have "said goodbye almost completely to the piano-oriented songs of the debut works [...] and works noticeably more with accentuations on drums, strings, guitars and brass."
