13 Blues for Thirteen Moons is the fifth studio album by Canadian post-rock band Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La-Band . The album was released in March 2008 . The album consists of an instrumental intro, divided into twelve pieces, each only a few seconds long, followed by four pieces, each over ten minutes long.

The liner notes in the CD booklet were titled Himnos de Sion , and for the first time in the history of the band, the booklet also contains the lyrics.

The album received mixed reviews. AllMusic awarded 4.5 out of 5 possible stars and wrote that the band had never "rocked so hard or so convincingly in their career." In contrast, Pitchfork only awarded 5.2 out of 10 possible points: that takes the fun out of the album. "

Laut.de rated the album with 4 out of 5 stars. Although it is "reserved for an elite circle of knowledgeable people due to the scruffy compositions", it is "[b] reassuring that there are still musicians with concerns with us."
