Harry Wiesemann (born April 14, 1927 ) is a former German football player, who between 1955 and 1960 played 91 games in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football , for progress in Weißenfels .

Athletic career

In the last game of the league transition round in 1955, which was played to change into the calendar season, the 28-year-old Wiesemann got his first point game for the promoted SC progress Weissenfels. He played instead of the regular left-back Kurt Bindernagel in his position. In the first regular league season of the SC progress coach Herbert Worbs Wiesemann started as a central defender from the first day of the game. After the 8th matchday Wiesemann was injured and was only able to play again in the last two league games of the first half of the season, again as a substitute for left-back Bindernagel. In the second half of the 1956 season, Wiesemann was only a substitute for Bindernagel in four other league games. In 1957 Wiesemann finally took over from Bindernagel and played 24 of the 26 league games as a left-back. He retained this position in the 1958 season, in which he only missed a point game. In his fourth regular league season, Wiesemann was set as a left defender and was able to play all 26 point games. For progress Weissenfels 1960 was the year of relegation, for the 32-year-old Wiesemann the end of his senior league career. Wiesemann was injured so badly in the first league game of the season that he could no longer play competitive sports.
