Harsberg is the smallest part of the local community Weselberg in the district of Südwestpfalz in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Harsberg is located in the west of the municipality on the Sickinger Höhe . The place is mainly surrounded by agricultural land.

history

Until 1798, Harsberg belonged to the Landstuhl estate of the Sickinger family . From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Harsberg - then spelled Haarsberg - was incorporated into the canton of Waldfischbach . In 1815 the place had 170 inhabitants. Then the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 the place was part of the Landkommissariat Pirmasens , which was then converted into a district office.

In 1928, Harsberg had 324 residents who lived in 49 residential buildings. From 1938 the place was part of the district of Pirmasens (today's name: District of Südwestpfalz). After the Second World War , Oberhausen became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform, the place was incorporated into neighboring Weselberg on June 7, 1969 .

Infrastructure

There are a total of three objects on site with the bell tower and two crossroads that are under monument protection . There is an industrial park to the south-east of the village. State road 473 , which connects the town with Hermersberg and Wallhalben , also runs through Harsberg . The federal motorway 62 , which separates Harsberg from Weselberg and Zeselberg , runs east of the industrial park .
