Location of Zeselberg in Rhineland-Palatinate

Zeselberg is a district of the local community Weselberg in the district of Südwestpfalz in Rhineland-Palatinate .

location

Zeselberg is located in the north of the municipality on the Sickinger Höhe . Structurally it has grown together with the core town of Weselberg; accordingly, spatial separation is no longer possible.

history

Until 1798 Zeselberg belonged to the Landstuhl estate of the Sickinger family . From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Zeselberg was incorporated into the canton of Waldfischbach . During this time, the place was the seat of a Mairie , which also included Harsberg , Hettenhausen and Weselberg. In 1815 the place had 213 inhabitants. Then the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 the place was part of the Landkommissariat Pirmasens , which was then converted into a district office.

In 1928 Zeselberg had 399 inhabitants who lived in 67 residential buildings. From 1939 the place was part of the district of Pirmasens (today's name: District of Südwestpfalz). After the Second World War , Zeselberg became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform, the place was incorporated into neighboring Weselberg on June 7, 1969 .

Infrastructure

The federal motorway 62 runs immediately to the west of the settlement area . The only cultural monument on site is a war memorial in Zeisselstrasse .
