Hartmut Fromm (born October 15, 1950 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Fromm, who was signed by Rot-Weiß Unna from the Westphalia regional league, played 116 games between 1973 and 1977 under coach Heinz Höher , 93 of which were in the 1st Bundesliga for VfL Bochum . During this time he played with famous personalities such as Franz-Josef Tenhagen , Michael Lameck and Hermann Gerland .

The defender made his Bundesliga debut on October 27, 1973 in the 2-0 away defeat by Borussia Mönchengladbach. His best record at VfL was in the 1975/76 season with 30 league games and one goal. He received the only red card of his career on the Betzenberg on April 5, 1975 in the 0-1 defeat against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

He was part of the "Abel Deal". As part of a swap, he went to Westfalia Herne in the second division of the Bundesliga in 1977/78 and the goal scorer Jochen Abel stormed for VfL Bochum from now on. Fromm played for Bochum in the Bundesliga in the first two rounds on August 6 and 13, 1977, and played the first second division game for Herne on October 30, 1977. In Herne he met the former VfL players Hans-Jürgen Bradler , Hans-Günter Etterich and Franz-Josef Laufer . At the end of the round he had played 19 games for the team from the Stadion am Schloss Strünkede and Westfalia was ranked 12th.

Others

Fromm was a police instructor; he faced the double burden of "normal" job and Bundesliga football. He spent his annual leave with the police at the VfL training camp.
