Hartmut Ortmann

Hartmut Ortmann (born November 1, 1965 in Bremerhaven ) is a former German basketball player . The 2.08 meter tall indoor player completed an A international match for Germany and played in the basketball league for Bamberg, Trier and the BG Bramsche / Osnabrück as well as in the first Greek league.

Career

Ortmann moved from Bremerhaven to the USA in 1984, where he played for a year at Wake Forest University and then moved to the University of California in 1985 . Due to the transfer regulations of the NCAA he had to suspend in the 1985/86 season, then he played until 1989 for the "Golden Bears".

After returning to Germany he played for the Bundesliga club Bamberg , then for BG Bramsche / Osnabrück, followed by three years in Trier until 1997 , also in the top German division. Between 1997 and 1999 Ortmann played one year each for the Greek clubs Aris Saloniki and Near East BC. Following the 1999/2000 season, which he spent again in Trier, he ended his professional career.

National team

In November 1985 he played his first and only A international match for Germany against England.
