Hartmut Paeffgen

Hartmut Paeffgen (* 1942 in Heidelberg ; † May 16, 2006 in Spain ) was a German journalist .

Life

Paeffgen studied at the University of Stuttgart . His first job led him to the Schwäbische Zeitung in Leutkirch, then to the Bonn Generalanzeiger . In 1979 he switched to the Stuttgarter Nachrichten in Stuttgart as head of duty . In 2004 he retired.

For many years he was a journalistic advisor to church bodies, such as the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK) from 1988 to 1996 . Among other things, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and the supporting association of the Munich-based Catholic Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists (ifp).

In 1990 Paeffgen was the initiator of the aid campaign of the Stuttgarter Nachrichten Russia, we help! under the patronage of the Peace Prize winner Lev Kopelew , who raised over three million marks for the famine in what was then Leningrad .

Since 1990 he has been an honorary member of the AV Alania Stuttgart in the CV .

He died while on vacation as a result of heart surgery in 2004.
