Hartmut Scheible
Hartmut Scheible (born June 30, 1942 in Frankfurt am Main ; † October 29, 2018 ) was a German German studies scholar and professor for modern German literature at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .
After studying German , Romance languages and philosophy in Frankfurt and Tübingen, he was in 1969 with a dissertation on Joseph Roth doctorate . In the same year he passed the first state examination and in 1971 the second state examination. He taught at the Oberursel grammar school until 1972 and was then a lecturer at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education , where he was appointed professor in 1973. In 1974 Scheible was appointed to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University.
Scheible had been a member of the Pen Center Germany since 1994 .
