Hartwig Cleve
Hartwig Richard Cleve (born July 17, 1811 in Weteritz , Altmark , † March 22, 1883 in Wolfenbüttel ) was a German administrative lawyer.
Life
Cleve attended high school in the castle (Wolfenbüttel) . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . He became active in the Corps Borussia Bonn (1830) and the Corps Brunsviga Göttingen (1831). At Brunsviga he seconded many games, including four games by Braunschweig against Otto von Bismarck as a student . After completing his studies, he entered the civil service. From 1850 to 1862 he was the police director of Braunschweig . At the 1000th anniversary of the city of Braunschweig in 1861, he led the pageant on horseback. Later he was district director of the Wolfenbüttel district . Brunsviga elected him an honorary member.
