Hartwig Peetz

Hartwig Freimund Peetz (born March 28, 1822 in Bayreuth , † April 17, 1892 in Munich ) was a German tax official and local historian .

Life

Peetz attended grammar school in Munich and related to the University of Erlangen . He had artistic inclinations and would have preferred the profession of artist, but circumstances led him to pursue a career as a civil servant. He became a tax officer in Trostberg , Traunstein and Munich and most recently served in the rank of government councilor .

As a part-time job, Peetz dealt with the history of Bavaria. He wrote numerous writings on cultural and historical content. He was a member of the Historical Association of Upper Bavaria, the Historical Association of Upper Franconia to Bayreuth and the Alpine Association .

Hartwig-Peetz-Strasse in Traunstein was named after Peetz .
