The Harvey Summit is a 2644 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range, it rises at the head of the McDermott Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1994 after John W. Harvey (* 1940) of the National Solar Observatory of the University of Colorado Boulder , who in 1980 together with his colleagues Thomas L. Duvall Jr. and Martin A. Pomerantz (1916-2008) had conducted helioseismological studies at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station .
