Summary
The plot describes the life of Harvek Milos Krumpetzki, who was born in Poland in 1922 . At the beginning of the Second World War he came to Spotswood in Australia as a refugee , where he changed his name to Harvie Krumpet . Although the accidents in his life have been strung together - he suffers from Tourette's syndrome , is struck by lightning and loses a testicle - Harvie remains optimistic and lives his own eccentric life. He marries a nurse he met in the hospital. Together they raise a Contergan child , their adopted daughter.
Throughout his disaster-ridden life, Harvie enjoys the simple joys of life until the end as people come and go around him. One of the key scenes in the film shows Harvie in the park, sitting next to a statue of Horace , when he hears Carpe diem . This event causes him to make numerous changes in his life; he becomes a naturist and carries out daring actions for animal rights .
criticism
The fact that the animation was carried out entirely using a kneading trick and without computer support makes this film even more impressive. Harvie's naive simplicity is an outstanding metaphor for everything that youth values in life - a clear sense of values and the strengths of family life.
