Hascher bin Maktum ( Arabic حشر بن مكتوم, DMG Ḥašr b. Maktūm ; † November 22, 1886 ) became ruler of the Emirates of Dubai in 1859 after the death of Sheikh Said bin Buti .

He proved to be an able ruler with a keen sense of justice.

Sheikh Hascher bin Maktum granted foreign traders tax exemption , which is why more and more merchants settled in Dubai. Thus he laid the foundation for the current position of Dubai.
