Hassan Sallah

Hassan Gibril Sallah (* 3. January 1948 in Karantaba Tenda ; † 25. May 2006 ) was Minister of Agriculture ( English Secretary of State for Agriculture and Natural Resources ) of the West African country Gambia .

After finishing school, Sallah went to Yundum College from 1967 to 1968 and received a certificate in agriculture. He then obtained a simple diploma at the Bellow University School of Agriculture in Kabba (Nigeria) until 1970 . From 1975 to 1976 he spent at the Pan African Institute for Development in Buea (Cameroon) and received a diploma in agricultural development. Subsequently, by 1978, he earned a diploma in journalism at the Trans-World Tutorial College . At the same time he also obtained a diploma in film production from the Institute of Mass Communication in Nairobi (Kenya). From 1981 to 1984 he attended Colorado State University in the United States and completed this course with a Bachelor of Science in the field of journalism in agriculture.

From 1971 to 2000 Hassan Sallah had various jobs in agriculture and other organizations.

In January 2000 he was appointed to the Gambian cabinet of President Yahya Jammeh , replacing Fasainey Dumbuya in this office. On April 5, 2004, Sallah passed the office to Sulayman Sait Mboob .

Sallah died on May 25, 2006, leaving four wives behind.
