Hasso Krull
Hasso Krull , pseudonym Max Harnoon (born January 31, 1964 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian poet , essayist and translator .
education
Hasso Krull graduated from Tallinn High School in 1981 . He then studied Estonian language and literature from 1981 to 1985 at the Tallinn University of Education . Since 1990 he has been teaching literary theory with interruptions at the Estonian Humanitarian Institute (since 2005 part of Tallinn University ).
Krull is considered to be an intellectual institution in Estonia, as he played a leading role in the implementation of modern French philosophy in the Estonian literary discourse at the end of the 20th century. However, he is not limited to philosophical theories, but shows a passion for experimentation. His poetry was given the catchwords post-structuralism , paragrammatism and program freedom.
Hasso Krull has been a member of the Estonian Writers' Union ( Eesti Kirjanike Liit ) since 1989 .

Poetry
Hasso Krull made his debut in 1986 with his poetry collection Mustvalge ("black and white"), then still under the pseudonym Max Harnoon. Further volumes of poetry followed, most recently in 2012 the collection of poems Veel ju vist .
Hasso Krull is one of the most influential contemporary poets and intellectuals in Estonia. His early work is influenced by symbolism . For the collection of poems Jazz (1999) he was inspired by musical elements. Intertextuality is in the foreground of his work. In addition, Krull is heavily involved in Estonian mythology and its myths .

Translations
Hasso Krull has also made a name for himself as a translator from French , English , German , Dutch , Finnish and Swedish . Through him, Jacques Derrida's ideas were widely disseminated in Estonia .
Awards
In 1998 he received the annual prize of the Estonian cultural capital and in 2002 the poetry prize of this institution and in 2005 the prize of the Baltic Assembly for literature. 2006 the renowned Juhan Liiv Poetry Prize .
