Hauganes is a settlement in the northeast of Iceland .
It is located in the municipality of Dalvíkurbyggð on the west bank of Eyjafjörður and had 118 inhabitants on January 1, 2019. The Hauganesvegur
connects the place with the Ólafsfjarðarvegur
. The distance to Dalvík in the northwest is 14 kilometers by road. To the south it is 34 km to Akureyri . Hauganes has a fishing industry and is home to the oldest whale watching tour operator in Iceland.
