The Haus Maria im Venn monastery in the south-western Stolberg district of Venwegen in the Aachen city region has been the motherhouse of the Order of the Christian Sisters , founded in Aachen in 1412 , since September 16, 1973 , who maintain the home of the good Samaritan in Unterstolberg as a subsidiary . It is located south of the village on the edge of the forest and was built between 1970 and 1974. Diocesan Bishop Johannes Pohlschneider consecrated the monastery church on November 30, 1974 . A senior center with 139 places for all denominations, a kindergarten , an indoor pool and a gym are attached to the monastery . It has a chaplain.

The interior decoration of the church, a rosary in the choir , the ambo , the altar and the tabernacle were created by the Kohlscheider goldsmith Peter Bücken. The windows adorned with ornaments come from the glass artist J. Beek from Nettetal . Catholic and Protestant services are held in the church.
