The House of the Region Hanover serves the citizens and the administration of the Region Hanover and is the seat of the incumbent regional president . The location of the building, which is also used for events and conferences , is Hildesheimer Strasse 20 and 18 in the state capital of Hanover .

history

The building was built between 1955 and 1957 according to plans by the architects Ernst Kreytenberg and Rainer Godorr for the state insurance company . From 1978 the building served as the seat of the district of Hanover .

Due to changed usage requirements, especially as a contact point for the citizens of the region, the regional assembly approved the plans for a supplementary new building on the corner of Akazienstrasse. The completion of the so-called "Campus Hildesheimer Straße", which costs around 12.8 million euros and will primarily house the department for public order and parts of the immigration office, is planned for 2022.
