Others

  • For the location of the memorial plaque in Harmat utca there are two different details of the house number (76 or 78). The reason for this is the counting method in the relevant area of the street. Only the apartment blocks are counted there, although each has two separate entrances or stairwells. The official name of the former place of residence would be 76/2 in Hungarian. (Apartment block / staircase) correct, equivalent in Germany with house number 76b. This entrance is easily misinterpreted as number 78.
  • Some sources give the date of death as April 21, 1998. Gergely Rákosy, however, died the day before after an operation as a result of falling down the stairs without ever waking up in the presence of his wife.
  • A wooden cross marked the grave of Gergely Rákosy until his wife was buried. This was replaced by a stone slab in 2002. The wooden cross is now in the Museum of Funeral Culture (Kegyeleti Múzeum) in Budapest.
  • In 1974 members of the Hungarian group Fonográf wrote the score for the film "Tigrisugrás" (Tiger Leaping). In 2000 a title of the same name was published on their album "Használat Előtt Felrázandó" (Shake before use). It's not that of the movie, however. Fonográf also wrote the music for "Gombó kinn van" (see filmography).
