Fonyód is a Hungarian city in the county of the same name in Somogy County .
Geographical location
The city is located directly on the southern bank of Lake Balaton . Neighboring communities are Balatonfenyves, Ordacsehi, Balatonboglár and Lengyeltóti .

The main road No. 7 runs through Fonyód, and the M7 motorway three kilometers south of the city . From the train station in Fonyód there are train connections to Budapest Ostbahnhof , Nagykanizsa and Kaposvár . There is also a boat connection across Lake Balaton to Badacsony .
