Fonyód small area

The small area Fonyód ( Hungarian Fonyódi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Somogy County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, all eleven localities were transferred to the following district of Fonyód (Hungarian Fonyódi járás ). All ten localities from the Lengyeltóti small area, which was dissolved at the end of 2012, were added to this new district .

The administrative seat was in the city of Fonyód (4.856 Ew.) Two other cities were also on the southern shore of Lake Balaton : Balatonboglár (5.901 Ew.) And Balatonlelle (5.309 Ew.)

At the end of 2012, 23,616 inhabitants lived in the small area of ​​Fonyód on an area of ​​372.82 km². The population density was 63 inhabitants / km², slightly above the county average.

The following eight municipalities (Hungarian község ) with a total of 7,550 inhabitants belonged to the small area Fonyód.
