Siófok small area

The small area Siófok ( Hungarian Siófoki kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Somogy County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform, at the beginning of 2013 all localities were completely transferred to the following district of Siófok (Hungarian: Siófoki járás ), which was strengthened by 13 areas from the dissolved small area Balatonföldvár and the village of Balatonvilágos from Veszprém county .

At the end of 2012, 39,091 people lived in an area of ​​386.11 km². The population density was 101 inhabitants / km², the highest in the county.

The administrative seat was in the largest city Siófok (25.441 Ew.). Zamárdi was another city (2,451).
