Siójut (formerly Jut ) is a Hungarian community in the district of Siofok in Somogy county .
Geographical location
Siójut is located a good seven kilometers southeast of the center of the city of Siófok and the southern bank of Lake Balaton , on the right bank of the Sió Canal . The neighboring municipality is Ádánd , on the opposite side of the Sió Canal is the municipality of Balatonszabadi .
history
According to archaeological finds, the area was already inhabited by Romans, and there was a Roman road near the settlement. The first written mention of the place was found in documents of King II András from 1229. Until 1954 the place was called Jut.
