Balatonszemes is a Hungarian municipality in Siófok County , which is located in Somogy County . It is located on the south bank of Lake Balaton between Balatonlelle and Balatonszárszó .
history
From 1790 to 1861 there was a stagecoach station for changing horses, a sign that the place was an important one at that time. From 1880 Balatonszemes developed into a seaside resort. At the time of socialism there was a children's rest home on the grounds of the Hunyady Castle.

Balatonszemes is on the national road no. 7. The M7 motorway runs two kilometers south of the village. In addition, the community is connected to the railway line from Nagykanizsa to Budapest South Station .
