Csurgó small area

The small area of ​​Csurgó ( Hungarian Csurgói kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Somogy County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . As part of the administrative reform, at the beginning of 2013 all localities were completely transferred to the district of Csurgó (Hungarian Csurgói járás ).

At the end of 2012 there were 16,807 inhabitants in an area of ​​496.19 km². The population density was the lowest in the county with 34 inhabitants / km².

The administrative seat was in the only city Csurgó (5.229 Ew.). The second largest village was the large municipality Berzence (2.602 Ew.).
