The Havelland district is the sponsor of the Havelland Kliniken group of companies , which has been an umbrella organization since 2004, uniting several subsidiaries in the health and care sector, the Havelland rescue service and a service company. A total of around 2000 employees plus trainees are employed in the group of companies (the companies are also training companies). The corporate group is based in Nauen.

history

Havelland Kliniken GmbH, the core of the group, was founded in 2003 through the merger of two regional hospitals (in Nauen and Rathenow ). Both emerged from independent traditional health institutions.

At the beginning of the 20th century (1907) the Cecilie district hospital with operating room and X-ray room was inaugurated in Nauen and steadily expanded in the 1930s and 1950s. In the early 1960s it became the district hospital of the Nauen district. After the reunification of the two German states, the district hospitals of Nauen and neighboring Staaken were merged. The resulting Havellandklinik Nauen received a modern new clinic in 1998 in Nauen, Ketziner Strasse. Havellandklinik Nauen has been part of Havelland Kliniken GmbH in Nauen since 2003 and is called Klinik Nauen. The clinic building complex is located in a park, in the immediate vicinity of which the Nauen Medical Service Center is located.

Rathenow's Municipal Hospital - later Paracelsus Hospital - was built a little earlier (1885) and expanded several times over the decades to adapt it to the respective standard of medical care. The Paracelsus Hospital Rathenow, merged with Havellandklinik Nauen, has belonged to Havelland Kliniken GmbH since 2003 and is called Klinik Rathenow. After reunification, a multi-stage construction program was decided, which was implemented from 1996 (first groundbreaking) to 2009 (handover of the last construction phase). At the turn of the century to the 21st century, two new functional buildings were built for the operating theater and kitchen, as well as for delivery rooms, emergency rooms and central sterilization. Furthermore, old and new buildings were connected by means of two-storey glass corridors and a new bed block was built in 2004. The historical part - today under monument protection - was renovated in this context and adapted to the modern requirements for hygiene, fire protection and logistics. This historical part houses the medical service center on the ground floor. The clinic complex is surrounded by a park, in the immediate vicinity of which there are several facilities of the corporate group's residential and care center.

The Nauen and Rathenow clinics have been expanded into modern medical centers for diagnostics and therapy at both locations.
