The Hawker 4000 , originally Hawker Horizon , is a twin-engine business jet from the US manufacturer Hawker Beechcraft (formerly Raytheon Aircraft).

history

The Hawker 4000 was announced as the Hawker Horizon in 1996. The first flight did not take place until August 11, 2001. The approval by the FAA took place on November 21, 2006. However, since the machine was not delivered, this temporary approval expired and the machine was not approved for production by the FAA until June 12, 2008. As early as December 2, 2005, NetJets ordered fifty machines; in March 2007, more than 130 orders had been placed. The first machine was then delivered on June 18, 2008. On May 3, 2010, the approval of the European approval authority EASA followed. The new price is around 23 million US dollars .

The Hawker 4000 can accommodate up to fourteen passengers, but the cabin is usually equipped with eight seats. The fuselage is partly made of composite materials , which has increased the range and altitude compared to conventional aircraft made of aluminum . A Honeywell Primus Epic including FADEC system was selected as the cockpit avionics .
