Haworthia vlokii is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily of the Affodilla family (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet bruynsii honors the South African mathematician and succulent specialist Peter Vincent Bruyns (* 1957).

description

Haworthia bruynsii grows without a trunk and individually. The five to eleven leaves form a rosette with a diameter of up to 6 centimeters. The brownish green, opaque leaf blade has a flat truncated end face. The leaf surface is slightly rough. There are small raised warts on it.

The simple inflorescence is slender. The slender flowers are far apart. The flower tube is upside down. The tips of the fused tepals are rolled back.

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia bruynsii is widespread in the South African province of Eastern Cape in the Little Karoo .

The first description by Martin Bruce Bayer was published in 1981. A nomenklatorisches synonym is Haworthia retusa var. Bruynsii (MBBayer) Halda (1997).
