history

The band was founded in 1998 under the name BOMB 32 and consisted of singer Matt Kinna, bassist Jon Cohen, guitarist Joel Krass and drummer Brian Mathews. By the TV show Farmclub.com of USA Network , the group was able to increase its notoriety, reaching a record deal with RCA Records . With the first single All of the Above , Headstrong played on the farm club stage in Los Angeles in the summer of 2000 . During this time the group held performances with Eminem and Korn, among others . In early 2002, the self-titled debut album followed. The material for this was recorded in London with producer Dan Brodbeck and mixed in Los Angeles by Jack Joseph Puig . Adriana was released as a single . In August, the label separated from the band, so that a US tour with Tommy Lee could not be ended. In April 2003 the band announced their breakup.

style

Allmusic's MacKenzie Wilson described the band's music as modern 311- style rock , Stone Temple Pilots and Helmet . Christian Graf called the band "[p] political rap rockers ". The band was influenced by artists like Rage Against the Machine , Public Enemy , Woody Guthrie and NWA .
