Heather Juergensen

Heather Juergensen (born January 2, 1970 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American actress , screenwriter and film producer .

Life and accomplishments

Juergensen grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from high school in 1987 . She played her first film role in the short film The Afterlife of Grandpa , which was awarded a special prize at the WorldFest Houston festival . She then graduated from McGill University with a degree in psychology and worked temporarily in the advertising industry. Together with Jennifer Westfeldt , she wrote the play Lipschtick , in which both women played the leading roles of a lesbian couple. The play was filmed as the comedy Kissing Jessica , in which Juergensen and Westfeldt played the same roles as in the play; they also wrote the script and co-produced the film. They received a special award from the Los Angeles IFP / West Film Festival in 2001 and were nominated for the Independent Spirit Award in 2003 for the script .

In the film drama Red Roses and Petrol , Juergensen played one of the bigger roles alongside Malcolm McDowell . She played a bigger role in the comedy The Hammer , and she also co-produced the film. In the comedy The Suzy Prophecy she took the title role, directed, wrote the screenplay and produced the film.

Juergensen has been married to film producer and screenwriter Kevin Hench since 2003, with whom she has a daughter. She lives in Los Angeles .
