Heather McPhie (born May 28, 1984 in Bozeman , Montana ) is an American freestyle skier . She specializes in the mogul slope disciplines moguls and dual moguls.

biography

The daughter of two instructors as a child gymnast , moving on but at the age of twelve years for moguls. From 2002 she competed in the Nor-Am Cup, but initially devoted herself mainly to her job as an accountant. Finally, she made her debut on January 13, 2006 in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup and achieved 25th place in Deer Valley . In both 2006 and 2009 she won the discipline classification in the Nor-Am Cup. In the World Cup she only made it into the top ten sporadically, the best results in 2007 and 2008 were fourth place. In 2009 she only contested three World Cup races and did not get past eighth place.

In the 2009/10 season, McPhie made the breakthrough to the top. She won the Deer Valley World Cup race on January 14, 2010. A few days later, two more podium places followed. In the Moguls World Cup she finished second at the end of the season. In the winter of 2010/11 she was third once, in the winter of 2011/12 she was once second and three times third. McPhie was particularly successful in the 2012/13 season with three World Cup victories; at the 2013 World Championships in Voss , however, she just missed a medal win with two fourth places.
