Heber Raviolo (born September 29, 1932 in Montevideo , † November 22, 2013 ) was a Uruguayan publisher, lecturer and literary critic.

Heber Raviolo wrote as a literary critic for the magazines El Ciudadano and Asir from the mid-1950s . In 1961 he was one of the founders of the Ediciones de la Banda Oriental publishing house and was later responsible for publishing over 3,000 works as its director. In 1963 he successfully completed his training as a literature teacher at the Instituto de Profesores Artigas and worked in this profession until 1974 in the Enseñanza Secundaria . From 1964 to 1965 he was responsible for the literary section of the Época . Other sources cite the period 1973 to 1974. In this function he also worked for the Marcha in the last four editions from 1973 to 1974, which had to close in the wake of the emerging civil-military dictatorship in Uruguay. He also founded the magazines Brecha , Cultura y Sociedad and Tercera Orilla and was a member of the management team. From 1995 to 1997 he chaired the Cámara Uruguaya del Libro .
