Heckenhausen is a deserted village in the district of Wüstfeld , a district of the community Schenklengsfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .

Geographical location

The desert is about 6 km southeast of Bad Hersfeld and about 0.6 km north-northeast of the center of Wippershain , immediately northeast of the district road K 17 from Bad Hersfeld to Wüstfeld at 420 m above sea level on the edge of the local state forest.

history

The village was first mentioned in 1368; it belonged to the Landeck office and was located directly outside the northern border of the small Hersfeld office in Schildschlag . It is not known when the village was left.

From around 1590 a single farm has been occupied at the site, which was probably a re-establishment on the former settlement area in the course of the early modern development of the country. The farm was frequently mentioned in the following and only fell into desolation between 1760 and 1778. As stated in 1759, it was last used as a forester's and hunting lodge.

In the Statistical Repertory of the Kingdom of Westphalia from 1813, Heckershaus is listed again as a single house with four residents in the canton of Petersberg in the Hersfeld district of the Werra department .
