The canton Petersberg was an administrative unit in the Hersfeld district of the Werra department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was the place Petersberg , today part of Bad Hersfeld.

The canton comprised 16 villages, hamlets and individual farms, had 3,276 inhabitants and an area of ​​1.72 square miles .
