The canton of Hersfeld was an administrative unit in the Hersfeld district of the Werra department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was the city of Hersfeld in today's district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg . The canton comprised 14 villages and hamlets and a city, was inhabited by 7,046 people and had an area of 1.47 square miles .

- City of Hersfeld, with Eichhof , Wehneberg, Meisebach, Bingartes and Johannesberg
- Allmershausen with Hählgans and Kalkobes
- Heenes , Friedlos with Ludwigsauer Mühle and Reilos
